Video - When Alcaraz Didn't Know What the Concorde Was: The Delightful Anecdote from the Laver Cup

An unusual moment behind the scenes at the 2024 Laver Cup: Borg recalls his Concorde trips to New York. Alcaraz, amused, admits he has never heard of the mythical plane.
Björn Borg, an icon of men's tennis, was at the peak of his career between the 70s and 80s. Winner of six Grand Slams and retired at 26, the Swede remains one of the sport's earliest champions, although Carlos Alcaraz is now following in his footsteps.
During the previous edition of the Laver Cup, Borg, captain of Team Europe, spoke about his trips to New York on the Concorde. A plane that Alcaraz had never heard of, which became the subject of a juicy anecdote in a press conference.
Ruud: "Björn told us about his experience when he took the Concorde to New York. And Carlos didn't know what a Concorde was (laughs). We had to Google it for him. The last flight was in 2003 or 2004 if I remember correctly."
Dimitrov (addressing Alcaraz): "What year were you born? 2003? We had to educate him."
