Without mincing words, the Norwegian last year expressed his refusal to participate in tournaments in Saudi Arabia, while admitting that the kingdom will become a central player in tennis. A position both firm and realistic.

Last year, during the Stockholm tournament, Casper Ruud spoke about the Six Kings Slam and the organization of sporting events in Saudi Arabia.

The Norwegian admitted he did not want to go to a country where human rights continue to be violated, although the Saudi kingdom holds an increasingly important place in tennis:

"I haven't received an offer from the Six Kings Slam, but I have in the past (offers from other events) and I chose not to go. It's obviously a controversial country in many aspects. We also play in other controversial countries, like China.

We can discuss human rights there, for example, but we go there every year. For now, I've decided not to go to Saudi Arabia, but it seems inevitable that they will become important in the tennis world. They already have the Next Gen Finals. We'll see what the future holds."
