"We have no obligation to replicate what the Big 3 did," Alcaraz's confessions about his rivalry with Sinner

We have no obligation to replicate what the Big 3 did, Alcaraz's confessions about his rivalry with Sinner

Winner of the last seven Grand Slams, the Alcaraz-Sinner rivalry is literally dominating the men's tour. While they seem to be following in the footsteps of their predecessors (the Big 3), the native of El Palmar was keen to temper the expectations placed on them and wants to maintain the good relationship he shares with the Italian.

"We have no obligation to replicate what the Big 3 did. If you don’t stick to your ideals, the pressure can eat away at you. Let’s try not to think about the pressure. Trash-talking generates a lot of interest. People love the idea that there’s friction and contrast between us.

It’s something that sells. But even though tennis is an individual sport, we end up facing the same players every week. Jannik and I have had great battles on the court, and we often see each other off the court. We talk and sometimes even train together. In the end, a good relationship develops. We want to win when we face each other, but off the court, we’re good people and get along well.

It’s one of the values of sports. The rivalry with Sinner is growing stronger and stronger. I’m truly grateful because it gives me the opportunity to give 100% in every training session to improve. The level I need to maintain to beat him is really high," he said in an interview with the Financial Times.

I'm just going to predict in the end, barring any significant injuries, Sinner will have more majors than Alcaraz. He seems to be more emotionally stable and more disciplined than Alcaraz. But I guess Alcaraz could settle into the position he's found himself in life, try to make the most of it and be more dedicated. Time will tell.

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.

What a finish this is.. I believe King has used his boost for today. Skelp is closing strong. Two wins and he claims 1st if I lose my last prediction.

Gonna be difficult with only 2 pointers to choose from.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

How about leavin...

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.

As a long time player and lover of this game , I don't know how much of this I can tolerate. For example I waited hours last night for you to confirm my win and post my points. Every ot...
