As usual, Federer caused quite a stir upon his arrival at Wimbledon. A regular attendee since his retirement, the Swiss star was present on Centre Court on Monday, July 7, and notably watched his former rival Djokovic's match.

After securing a hard-fought victory against De Minaur, the Serb commented on the tournament record-holder's presence:

"We saw each other briefly… We greeted each other. He congratulated me and said it was a great match. That’s it. It was a very short encounter, but it was really nice to have him there during my match. Obviously, he’s one of the greatest legends of our sport. It’s always special when he’s in the stands.
