Concern over Sinner's elbow: "We'll do an MRI," he says
Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov faced off this Monday for a spot in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. And even though it was the Bulgarian who was forced to retire due to injury, the Italian wasn’t at 100% either.
Hurt in his right elbow after a fall, Sinner took a medical timeout. The injury hampered his forehands and serves.
In the post-match press conference, he revealed he would undergo an MRI on Tuesday and expressed concern.
"It happened very early in the match, in the very first game. It was quite an unfortunate fall.
I just watched the videos, and it didn’t seem too bad, but I still felt it quite strongly at the time, especially with every serve or forehand. I felt something was off, so we’ll see how it develops.
Tomorrow, we’ll see how it goes. Here at the ATP, we have good physiotherapists, at least. The doctor said everything was fine, but we’ll still do an MRI tomorrow to check if there’s anything serious to address."
