We will see how my thigh is doing: Alcaraz's statement that worries Spain ahead of the Davis Cup

Injured in his thigh during the final against Sinner, Alcaraz assured that he would travel to Bologna… while also stating that his health would come first. A declaration that casts doubt on his presence this Thursday in the Davis Cup.

Freshly defeated in the Masters final by Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz plans to follow up with the Davis Cup finals, which begin on Tuesday.

The world No. 1 will have three days to fine-tune his preparation and acclimatize to the Super Tennis Arena in Bologna, as Spain will play its quarter-final against the Czech Republic on Thursday.

Questioned by the media, Alcaraz confirmed that he would indeed travel to Bologna, while specifying that he would not take any unnecessary risks regarding his right thigh, for which he received treatment during the Masters final.

"Tomorrow, we will travel to Bologna. We will see how my thigh is doing over the next few days. My intention is to play the Davis Cup. I was able to run during the final, without taking risks. And I didn't lose the match because of that."

Marca reports that Alcaraz will leave Turin tomorrow around midday, before taking some rest. He will take his first steps on the court in Bologna on Tuesday, on a surface that is supposed to be similar to that of the ATP Finals.
