Wilander on Alcaraz: "I think he will experience inconsistencies throughout his career"

Carlos Alcaraz returns from Indian Wells and Miami with a very disappointing record. The Spaniard failed to win either of these two tournaments.
Even worse, he was eliminated in the first round in Miami by David Goffin.
He missed a great opportunity to close the gap in points with Jannik Sinner, who is sidelined until the Rome tournament.
Speaking to Eurosport, Mats Wilander shared his thoughts: "I think Carlos Alcaraz is going through what Carlos Alcaraz will experience throughout his career: inconsistencies.
Sometimes he performs miracles, which help him win matches, and other times, despite miracles, he ends up losing the match.
You have to go back to the days of André Agassi, when he would win tournaments and Grand Slams, then suffer first-round losses—especially when he arrived in Europe, whether indoors or on clay—only to return to the U.S. and win major tournaments again to become world No. 1.
I think that’s where Carlos Alcaraz’s inconsistencies lie. I don’t think it’s the same with Sinner.
I believe that every time Carlos Alcaraz loses a match, there are at least five players in the world who think they can beat him too."
