Wilander praises Sinner: "He's only going to get better".
Jannik Sinner is enjoying a top-class 2024 season.
At the age of 23, it was a season of consecration for the Italian. In 63 matches, Sinner racked up 57 victories, 6 titles from 6 finals played and a largely stabilized position as world number 1, with a lead of over 4000 points over his runner-up.
When asked about the Transalpine's incredible 2024 season, Mats Wilander was full of praise: "He's so solid, so good, he's excellent on the big points.
I think it was a relief after everything that happened at the end, considering how he started the tournament in the middle of the doping affair, but everyone's forgotten about that now, of course.
Taylor Fritz was really disappointing, because I think he had a chance of winning, but it wasn't really close.
He can play against any opponent on any surface and we'll always think he'll be the favorite. He's only going to get better.
He's only 23 and didn't play that much junior, which means he's very fresh. Finally, his popularity will continue to grow, because he's very humble as a sportsman."
