Wimbledon: Droguet and Royer to Face Off for a Spot in the Main Draw, Four Other French Players Qualify
The Wimbledon qualifiers are going rather well overall for the French players.
There were 16 in the first round, nine in the second round this Wednesday, and six will now attempt to secure a spot in the main draw of the London Grand Slam. Adrian Mannarino, Arthur Cazaux, and Kyrian Jacquet won comfortably, while Luka Pavlovic, Titouan Droguet, and Valentin Royer had to battle through three-set victories.
Droguet and Royer, who have never played in the main draw of Wimbledon, will face each other in the third round. Mannarino will play against Li Tu, Cazaux will challenge Dusan Lajovic, Luka Pavlovic will take on Beibit Zhukayev, and Kyrian Jacquet will meet Jaime Faria.
On the other hand, the journey ends for Luca Van Assche (despite having two match points in the super tie-break against Hamish Stewart), Ugo Blanchet, and Arthur Bouquier.
