The men's doubles final pitted Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool, the No. 5 seeds, against Rinky Hijikata and David Pel, an alternate pair who had notably eliminated the world No. 1 duo Arevalo/Pavic in the semifinals.
Boosted by strong support from the crowd, the British duo Cash and Glasspool triumphed in straight sets (7-6, 6-3) to claim their very first Grand Slam title. This marks the first all-British pair to win the doubles since Patrick Hughes and Raymond Tuckey in 1936—a staggering 89-year gap.
Both players will break into the ATP top 5 on Monday, rising to world No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. This victory also brings them closer to securing a spot in the Turin Masters, as they now need just 1,200 more points to qualify.
