In an interview shared by Tennis Up To Date, McEnroe discussed the case of seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic. According to him, this loss against Sinner in the tournament's semifinals symbolizes a turning point in the 38-year-old player's career.

"He has finally joined the group of older champions who realize their best days are behind them and must face this unfortunate fact. I don’t know if it’s an injury or the accumulation of tough matches, but the era of the old guard is over. Honestly, it’s incredible he made it this far. It’s crazy. Phenomenal.

Novak will have a lot to think about in the coming month. Does he believe it’s because he was injured or that his body is worn out? This is the first time I’ve watched him and thought, ‘I’m not sure he’ll come back.’ I don’t know if he can accept being a step or two below these younger guys."

It remains to be seen what the former world No. 1 will decide to do. While he has stated his intention to return to London next year, the coming months could prove crucial for the Grand Slam record holder.

Djokovic is chasing that elusive no. 25. We all know that if something like Sinner was injured and withdrew and Alcaraz got food poisoning and lost or withdrew because of it he would have a chance at no. 25. But we all know he can't stay on the court with Sinner or Alcaraz. Federer won two of his last 3 majors competing against Cilic. If he had to go up against Djokovic he probably would have lost. Djokovic could get lucky too and have his major competitors go out before he they crossed paths.
But what are the odds of that happening?

Thanks for the good words of support. And to d smith (cherrycoke) I am moved by your words and wish you had been around to experience what I'm referring to. As it is there are revolving groups of players each week. The ones in question might be moved out to another group 1 week in four. That means for 3 weeks of every 4 there is unfair play. If you are buying boosts the odds are greatly in your f...

There are a group of players who feel the need to win and spend a bunch of money to add boosts to their predictions. That is ok if they have it to spend. Many of us do not.

I feel these should have their own group(s). An extra 4-6-8 points makes a difference in a week. I don't want to play in unfair rules.

To me it's just a game. A good one at that. And the developer deserves to get paid. But se...
