WTA 125 in Quito: Jeanjean qualifies for the quarterfinals without a hitch
Léolia Jeanjean is not slowing down at the end of this season. Competing in a South American tour, the French player reached the final of the WTA 125 tournament in Colina (Chile) two weeks ago, before being eliminated early in the WTA 125 tournament in Buenos Aires in recent days. However, the 30-year-old player, who hopes to stay in the top 100 to compete in the Australian Open, is also present in Quito, Ecuador, this week.
Two victories in two sets for Jeanjean, qualified for the quarterfinals
After her opening victory against Eva Vedder, ranked 226th in the world (6-1, 6-2), the French player, ranked 102nd in the WTA, followed up with a second win against Sada Nahimana (6-3, 6-3), a Burundian player ranked 232nd. Jeanjean will play in the quarterfinals on Friday against the winner of the match between Veronika Erjavec and Laura Pigossi. A finalist in four tournaments in 2025, Jeanjean is still seeking her first trophy of the season.
