WTA 250 Bogota: Jeanjean and Janicijevic to Face Off in Second Round, Paquet Ousted by Maria

Three French players were on the courts in Bogota overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. After her match had been interrupted the previous day at the start of the second set, Selena Janicijevic finished and won her duel against seventh-seeded Sara Sorribes Tormo, dropping only three games (6-1, 6-2). She will now face her compatriot Léolia Jeanjean.
The latter, for her part, eliminated Kathinka Von Deichmann (6-4, 7-5), who committed 12 double faults. A three-time Challenger circuit finalist this season (Pune, Vacaria 2, and Bangalore), the 29-year-old secured her first main-draw win on the WTA tour in 2025. As a result, a French player is guaranteed to reach the quarterfinals in South America.
However, Chloé Paquet’s run ended prematurely. Despite a strong fight against Tatjana Maria, the world No. 120 ultimately fell short (6-7, 7-5, 6-4 in nearly 3 hours and 30 minutes of play). The 37-year-old 2022 Wimbledon semifinalist will face Hanna Chang, who defeated Varvara Lepchenko, in the round of 16.
