WTA Awards: The winners of the 2024 season are known!

After weeks of anticipation, the WTA Awards 2024 have delivered their verdict. Aryna Sabalenka, world number 1, was voted player of the season.

With seven finals contested and four titles, including two Grand Slam titles in Melbourne and New York, the Belarussian has made the year shine with her talent.

She also won the Masters 1000 tournaments in Cincinnati and Wuhan. She is ahead of Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Qinwen Zheng and Jasmine Paolini.

The Italian was honored in another category. The Sara Errani/Jasmine Paolini pair was voted best doubles pair of the season.

Together, they won gold at the Olympic Games and were finalists at Roland-Garros.

Home victors at the Rome Masters 1000, they also took part in the WTA Finals in Riyadh at the beginning of November.

In the category of best progression of the year, Emma Navarro was the winner.

The American won the title in Hobart in January and was rewarded for her consistency by breaking into the top 10 for the first time.

She also reached the semi-finals at the US Open. She beat Collins, Kalinskaya, Shnaider and Kostyuk.

As for the revelation of the 2024 season, it was Lulu Sun who took the prize. The 23-year-old left-hander surprised everyone by reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, after coming through qualifying.

Her recent performances have enabled her to break into the top 40. The New Zealander, who was chosen over Erika Andreeva, Sramkova, Sonmez and Kartal, will be looking to confirm her good form in 2025.

Finally, Paula Badosa was voted in the Comeback of the Year category. Having won her title in Washington, the 26-year-old Spaniard is back stronger than ever.

She confirmed her good late-season form by reaching the quarter-finals at the US Open, beating Muchova, Osaka, Raducanu and Anisimova.
