WTA Rankings: Sabalenka Extends Her Lead at the Top, Anisimova Breaks into the Top 5

The US Open concluded in the women's draw with Aryna Sabalenka's triumph for the second year in a row.
The world No. 1, who had 2000 points at stake during the New York fortnight, lost nothing and now has 11,225 points to her name. This total gives her a lead of more than 3000 points over her closest rival, Iga Swiatek.
Although not yet officially guaranteed to finish the year at the top of the WTA rankings, Sabalenka holds a comfortable lead as she heads into the Asian tour, where she will defend a quarterfinal finish in Beijing and a title in Wuhan.
The notable change in the top 10 is Amanda Anisimova's five-place jump, as the US Open finalist reaches the 4th spot worldwide, her highest career ranking. She thus takes the place of her compatriot Jessica Pegula, who falls back to 7th place. Qinwen Zheng, absent since Wimbledon, loses two spots and finds herself in 9th place.
Outside the top 10, Naomi Osaka's 10-place leap stands out, despite her semifinal loss in New York. The Japanese player is now 14th with 2489 points. The biggest climbs are credited to Cristina Bucsa (+33 places, 62nd), Marketa Vondrousova (+24 places, 36th), and Barbora Krejcikova (+22 places, 40th).
On the French side, Loïs Boisson loses one place but remains the top French player, ranked 47th worldwide. Diane Parry makes a return to the top 100 at the 100th spot, and Elsa Jacquemot gains 8 places to reach 83rd.
