"Yesterday, I didn’t train at all," Yastremska explains her withdrawal before facing Gauff in Cincinnati

Dayana Yastremska will not be able to compete in her third-round match at the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati. After defeating Tomova in her opening match (6-4, 2-6, 6-2), she will not continue to the Round of 16.
Originally scheduled to face world No. 2 Coco Gauff this Tuesday on Center Court, the Ukrainian, ranked 31st in the world, ultimately withdrew. Speaking to Ukrainian Tennis media, the 25-year-old player explained her decision not to participate in the match.
"Recently, I’ve been taking antibiotics that caused severe poisoning. I even considered withdrawing from my previous match, hoping things would go well.
However, when I exert myself physically, my heart rate spikes, and I feel extremely weak. During the match against Tomova (in the previous round), I felt really unwell—my heart was racing…
Yesterday, I didn’t train at all. My doctors and I decided not to risk worsening my health.
For now, I’ll take a few days of rest and then begin preparing for the US Open," Yastremska stated. She has reached two WTA finals this season—in Linz in February and Nottingham in June.
