"You think it's easy, but it's not the case," Fonseca, admiring Federer's grass-court game
At just 18 years old, Fonseca has become the youngest player to reach the third round of Wimbledon since Tomic in 2011. Impressive in his ability to adapt to different surfaces, the Brazilian said he wants to draw inspiration from his idol Federer, as seen in his interview with Punto de Break:
"He’s my idol. Before starting the grass season, I watched some highlights of him in Halle and here at Wimbledon. The simplicity with which he played is incredible. You think it’s easy to play like that, but it’s not the case. It was good to take inspiration from his way of playing."
Facing Jarry this Friday in the last match on Court No. 2, the young tennis prodigy will try to secure the first quarterfinal of his career in London.
