"You're 15 years old and you play like that!", the amusing exchange between Bublik and Sinner in Miami in 2021
On March 31, 2021, during the quarter-final of the Florida Masters 1000, the precocious genius Jannik Sinner struck again.
By dominating an Alexander Bublik who was as bewildering as he was fascinated, the Italian won over the crowd, and even his opponent. When shaking hands, the Kazakh expressed his admiration for the Italian, who was 19 years old at the time:
"Dude, you're not human. You're 15 years old and you play like that!"
On the court, it was a close match. Bublik, known for his unpredictable shots, tried to disrupt the Italian's rhythm. But Sinner, relentless, did not falter. He performed well on return of serve (40%) and was effective during key moments (3/6 break points). Result: 7-6, 6-4.
What happened next? Sinner managed to reach the tournament final. Unfortunately, he lost to Hurkacz in two sets (7-6, 6-4).
