Zverev on Cerundolo: "He should be Top 10, or close to it"

Alexander Zverev defeated Francisco Cerundolo 6-4, 7-6 in the Davis Cup Finals. In the post-match press conference, the German praised his opponent.

He stated: "In my opinion, you can take it as a compliment or as a criticism, but I think Francisco should be ranked higher than he currently is. He should find within himself the reason for this situation and work on it.

For me, on clay and also on hard court, given how he played today, he should be very close to the Top 10, or even in it. That's my opinion. I've played against him many times. He has beaten me several times. I've always said the same thing. For me, he is much better than his ranking reflects."

Cerundolo is currently ranked 21st in the world.
