Zverev on the Saudi Arabia Masters 1000: "I am not a politician. I will participate"
The ATP has announced the arrival of a 10th Masters 1000 in Saudi Arabia starting in 2028. This announcement has been the subject of controversy, particularly due to the country's political situation and the financial influence it holds.
While some fans are still calling for a Masters 1000 on grass, the news has generally disappointed tennis fans.
Alexander Zverev spoke on the subject: "Politically, the context is not always ideal, but they are trying to change. Three years ago, I wasn't there, but this year I was, and I almost felt like I was in a new country.
I am not a politician. If there is a Masters 1000 there, I will participate. They have been playing in Dubai or Doha for 30 years, and I don't think there has been the slightest problem.
I can talk about what I know, which is tennis. The ATP should start using this money to give something back to the players."
