Zverev out early at Indian Wells!

As the top seed at the Indian Wells Masters 1000, Alexander Zverev was eliminated in his opening match by Tallon Griekspoor (4-6, 7-6, 7-6) after a battle lasting over three hours.
Although he started the match well by taking the first set, the world No. 2 was then pushed by the Dutchman, finding himself trailing 5-2 in the second set.
Despite managing to turn the situation around and serving for the match at 6-5, Zverev ultimately fell in the tie-break.
Forced into a third set, the German likely believed he could pull off a miracle when he forced another tie-break after his opponent missed five match points.
Despite the frustration, Griekspoor continued to play his game, also capitalizing on Zverev's passivity.
On his sixth match point and with a final net approach, the world No. 43 secured the biggest victory of his career.
He will face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the next round. Meanwhile, Zverev continues to disappoint since his Australian Open final and will need to bounce back at the Miami Masters 1000.
