It’s good sportsmanship, in reality he was never going to win that match after he got injured but he kept going to give the opponent a more proper win. Well done on him for doing that and congrats to Karatsev

Wow karatsev makes history.... very strange Australian open this year. Everyone seems to have abdominal injuries

CINDERFELLA TALE REALIZED.
5
Diego Mathey
Well as per usual, Dimitrov has a gigant win over a top player (like beating Roger in 2019 USO), then will lose on semis here to either Nole or Zverev.

Or lose to Aslan! We all need a good story.

christinenelles88
I'd enjoy a cinderfella tale! You win, you advance. Simple and deserved. No excuses allowed.

RogerGoat
The Russian knows how to defeat quality players. Diego, Felix and who knows Dimi might be the next.
2
RogerGoat
Novak will cruise in the semis

chanducool879
Only threats posed to novak is the injury and medvedev
2
abubaker3005
Lool...Djokovic Guna crush zverev and then basically a walkover in semis when he plays this guy
2
Diego Mathey
Nothing like having a 115th ranked player opponent at the QF of a GS
1
jeet123
Mathey everyone including his opponents under estimated him and he silenced them

🎾 Mr. Mensa 💜

Always fair & almost always right.
[you bring the pan, I'll bring the kernels 😉]

Can't disagree with a word
& wouldn't be surprised if we saw another big upset in this match
....& a women's match 😐

Diego Mathey
Exactly mr. Mensa

Grigor going to win it all and donate the winning money for this year's great Adria Tour.

The stats in this match have been horrible so far
1
velinovkn92
Thiem was off but dimi was getting em 80 % in 1st serve didn't give thiem much wiggle room now his serving 50 % 1st serve in
1
abubaker3005
Grigor is serving horribly
1
abubaker3005
Karatsev is giving so many errors and still dmitrov managed to lose a set cus he's playing and serving crap himself
1
Lee Johnson
Must've been nice for "Baby Fed" to get a few wins before he returned to being useless

Come on Dimitrov!!!

Why does everyone have an abdominal injury... something in the Australian air hmmm

chanducool879
Easy semifinal for novak.

Feel very sad for all the players out there to play in such pain conditions

🎾 Mr. Mensa 💜
What Aslan has done already is impressive as I said.
So this is not surprising

Battered Gerasimov
Straight Sets Schwartzman
2 sets down to TAA
Now this against a man ranked almost 100 places higher aka [Baby Fed]
1
abubaker3005
Thus has been horrendous by dimi...It's no wonder he's never really achieved anything
1
Lee Johnson
It's not a proper victory if you're not playing proper tennis. What he's doing is pointlessly playing on in a match he has almost zero chance of winning
1
samiruffsankey
There’s a lot of matches won when the opponent can barely move, still doesn’t make them not victories.

🎾 Mr. Mensa 💜
A crazy last year we've all been through.
Many many strange things have happened in sport.

.....& Aslan creates Tennis history in the open era on his debut

No one complained when Grigor got a retirement 2 rounds ago, then an injured Thiem last round.

Grigor did what a real injured player could do 😉
