Thiem has beaten djokovic twice in FO and beaten Nadal every year on clay outside slams. I think he is the 2nd best clay courter in last 3-4 years

Tough 3rd round. But nadal should prevail. Maybe in 3 sets but i think in 2.
H2h is 13-1 for rafa.
He has never lost to dimi on clay.
His only and last defeat to him was on 2016 china open QF were he lost in straight sets. But we all know 2015-2016 were the lowest points in rafas career.
Vamos champ!

Rafa for 12th MC masters

When you play Rafa on clay, you lose half the battle mentally just because of his unreal stats on clay and he wins the rest half of the battle at the court. It needs either a horrible performance from Rafa or an ultimate god level performance from someone to get this guy on clay.
2
RogerGoat
Agree jeet. After Rafa's retirement Thiem gotta win atleast 5 french. ATM almost everyone suck on clay apart from the big 3 and Thiem.

Yes currently, Thiem has the best chance beating Nadal on clay based on clay form the past few years, historically and statistically he is still behind Novak in terms of being the 2nd best clay player in the past decade.

Sascha is also a good player on clay and med has the game to be good on clay

Is dimi really serving this bad?

🎾 Mr. Mensa 💜
A little bit too much respect, I think.

Or maybe he's nervous, what's to be nervous about
......you play Rafa on Clay, you lose.

Diego Mathey
Yes vamossss! 1 more set to go champ.

There's no threat from Novak for Nadal on clay.

Run Dimi......save yourself

Bastion? No threat at Wimby? May I recall 2018 SF? It was a match decided by 1 point. Either could have won (eventhough yeah, nole won). But not a threat? Thay is just not true...on AO yeah...it is true

Dimi playing like he has covid...

Bagel gone, Nadal's level dropped... he should retire!

Rafa just lost 5 games in 2 rounds. That's what you expect from him in clay courts

Stupid statement by Karar smh 🤦

I don't think kusha said anything wrong. Apart from Nadal,Djokovic,Federer, soderling and thiem no one in the past 2 decades has been consistent on clay.

Jeet- There have been a lot of good players on clay like Ferrer, Moya and lots of Europeans/Spanish players who have been good on clay. They get morphed into insignificance because of Nadal's performance. Similarly it can be wrongly inferred that in last two decades, not many consistent players on Grass other than Big3, Murray

Mr. Rafael Nadal came and did what needed to be done. He’ll always pass that assignment with flying colors.

RAfa in two
Leiron
Can't see Grigor having much of a chance here the way Rafa executed. Sure Grigor always grow in big matches but I'm afraid it won't be enough (like most of the times he's met big three). If I'd judge Grigor's game here in this year's MC I also think he can play better. A mediocre+ Grigor vs Rafa on fire can only end one way. Rafa in two, maybe 6-4 6-2.
