One thought before Food, Rubin has played more matches at melbourne park this week then Federer has played in 6 months

Benoit Paire was defeated by this young talent some time back. But this same guy defeated a qualifier in the first round but it took him 5 sets......just like Stan. So I think that this will be yet another good practice session for Fed before going on to face Berdych. Straight sets victory for the Maestro but expect any two of the three sets in which Fed might play 12 or more games to serve it out. And since Rubin has a weaker serve, expect the SABR on multiple occasions...;)

Could not see this match :( But based on the highlights it looked as if he got his backhand working which is great since the backhand was the single shot that I thought revealed his slight rustiness in the first round! Come on Federer!

No problem for the fed express

Rubin's just come through five matches in qualifying rounds and round 1 against Bjorn rank 113 in a close 5 setter.

I'm saying this because he'll lose and we sometimes forget about these dudes and how far they come just to get beaten by federer and the likes.
