"Go fuck yourselves!": Holger Rune cracks during Shanghai match

Nothing went as planned for Holger Rune in Shanghai. Frustrated with his game and helpless against Valentin Vacherot, the Dane ultimately exploded against his team in a shocking scene before bowing out after three hours of battle.

Despite being the favorite in his Shanghai quarterfinal against surprise guest Valentin Vacherot, Holger Rune fell after a three-hour battle (2-6, 7-6, 6-4).

The Dane, still searching for consistency in major tournaments, didn't hide his frustration during the third set. Trailing 0-30 on his serve at 3-3, Rune addressed his team with virulence.

"What can I do?" he blurted out, before receiving a response from his new fitness trainer Marco Panichi: "Keep hitting the ball with good length. That's all."

After losing the following point, Rune then lashed out at his team: "Go fuck yourselves. Go fuck yourselves, guys."

The world number 11 surrendered his service game at love after another unforced forehand error. A decisive break for Vacherot, who became the second-lowest ranked player in history to reach the semifinals of a Masters 1000 tournament.
