Not that it's not a big issue in sport & social media, but I think she wanted a bit of pressure on herself to preform at her best, similar to US O where the world was watching her masks & her take a political stand against Police Brutality.

Osaka was given manageable first and second round opponents if Danka, a clay court specialist, makes it to the 3red round Osaka goes home. Anyway she's coming into the tournament with low confidence so she may have a first round exit
