Fact-Checking
Last updated: 15/04/2026
TennisTemple is committed to publishing
verified and sourced information. This page describes our information verification process prior to publication and the measures we take to correct any errors that may have escaped our attention.
Primary Sources First
For each article, the editorial team prioritizes
primary sources:
- Official press conferences (ATP, WTA, Grand Slams, tournaments)
- Direct statements from players, coaches and federations
- Official communications from governing bodies (ATP Tour, WTA, ITF, Fédération Française de Tennis, etc.)
- Dispatches from Agence France-Presse (AFP), a TennisTemple partner since 2012
- Official statistical data (rankings, draws, seedings published by governing bodies)
Cross-Checking Sources
For
sensitive or exclusive information (coaching changes, injuries, disputes, controversial statements), we require
at least two independent sources before publication. When only one source is available, the article states this explicitly and uses conditional language.
Systematic Citation
When we relay information from another media outlet or a social media post, the source is
cited and linked in the article so that the reader can refer to the original.
Statements and Translations
Statements in foreign languages are
faithfully translated and the original version can be accessed via the linked source. We indicate any omission ("[...]") in a quote so as not to distort the original meaning.
Statistical Data
The rankings, scores and statistics displayed on TennisTemple come from
official ATP and WTA feeds, supplemented by our own database maintained in real time by the technical team. If an inconsistency is reported, we verify directly with the official sources.
Error Correction
Despite these checks, an error may slip through. If so, it is
corrected as soon as it is reported and, when the correction concerns a material element, disclosed to the reader. See our
corrections policy.
