Stats: Valentin Royer, First Player to Be Drawn as Lucky Loser Three Times in a Row in One Month

In Brussels, Basel, and now in Paris, Valentin Royer has experienced a rather fortunate month.

Indeed, in less than a month, the Frenchman has found himself in the same situation three times: after losing in the qualifying rounds, he was drawn as a lucky loser.

The 24-year-old Frenchman, ranked 59th, achieved a statistically near-impossible feat: being drawn as a lucky loser in three consecutive ATP tournaments: in Brussels, Basel, and Paris, in October 2025. This is an absolute first since the creation of the ATP Tour in 1990.

Yes, others have had similar streaks (Wayne Black, Manuel Guinard, Hugo Grenier), but none had managed to string together three main tour-level tournaments in a row on the main tour without a Challenger event in between.

Furthermore, Royer made the most of every opportunity given to him: winning his first-round matches in Belgium and Switzerland. Now, the question remains whether this streak will continue against Davidovich Fokina (15th).
