ATP 250 Metz: Tabur Qualifies for the Main Draw, Jacquet Beaten by Choinski in Qualifying

The final qualifying matches for the ATP 250 tournament in Metz took place this Sunday. Several French players were in action in Moselle, aiming to secure a spot in the main draw.
Clément Tabur will indeed compete in the Metz tournament. Entered in the qualifying rounds, the world No. 244, who received a wild card from the organizers, won both of his matches, securing his place in the main event.
After his victory against Nicolai Budkov Kjaer (7-5, 7-5), the Frenchman overcame Vitaliy Sachko (5-7, 6-3, 6-2). The Ukrainian won the first set but couldn't maintain his level throughout the match. Tabur will find out his first-round opponent in the coming hours.
On the other hand, Jacquet was defeated by Jan Choinski. The British player, the No. 4 seed in the qualifying draw, managed to get the better of the world No. 155. After a tight battle that went the distance, the 29-year-old ultimately prevailed in three sets (6-4, 5-7, 6-2) and advances to the main draw. Two more French players are still scheduled to play their second qualifying round this afternoon: Luca Van Assche and Dan Added.
