10-0, and yet... Sinner cautious ahead of his duel against de Minaur in Beijing
Undefeated against Alex de Minaur (10-0), Jannik Sinner approaches their semifinal in Beijing with caution. Despite his overwhelming statistics, the Italian warns about the Australian's recent progress and the tournament's specific playing conditions.
In his on-court interview after his victory against Marozsan (6-1, 7-5), the Italian and 2024 edition finalist stated this:
"I feel like these (playing) conditions are quite unique. The court is sometimes slow, especially with the balls used. So it's going to be very difficult to outplay him (De Minaur). He's one of the fastest players we have on the tour. And again, it's a big challenge for me.
He has improved a lot in recent months and he's playing very good tennis. Today we didn't see much, but in previous rounds, he played a lot and excellent tennis. I expect a very difficult match and we all hope for a great match."
