30 Minutes and 17 Deuces: The Insane Service Game Between Brooksby and Cazaux in Cincinnati
Jenson Brooksby and Arthur Cazaux faced off on Sunday in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters 1000.
The American won 7-5, 6-1 against the Frenchman, but the real turning point of the match came in the second set at 1-0, with Cazaux serving. The Frenchman indeed held serve for 30 minutes, featuring 17 deuces, 12 game points saved, and six break points for Brooksby.
It was with a winning backhand return that the American finally ended this utterly wild game, during which the two players contested a total of 40 points. Trailing by a set and a break, Cazaux then lost four of the next five games.
Brooksby, who celebrated winning this game like a victory (see video below), will face either Karen Khachanov or Valentin Royer in the third round.
