A 10th Withdrawal Confirmed in Shanghai: Fonseca Withdraws from Chinese Masters 1000

As the Shanghai Masters 1000 approaches rapidly, the list of withdrawals continues to grow.
Withdrawals are piling up for the Shanghai Masters 1000. Starting October 1st, ATP tour players will be in the Chinese city to compete in one of the most prestigious tournaments in Asia, but many players have already withdrawn from the 2025 edition.
The latest is João Fonseca. The 19-year-old Brazilian, ranked 42nd in the world, will not participate in the Shanghai tournament for the first time in his career. The upcoming schedule for the South American rising star is now known.
Fonseca will compete in the ATP 250 tournament in Brussels on October 13th, followed the next week by the ATP 500 in Basel and then the Masters 1000 in Paris. In early November, he is also expected to participate in a tournament, either in Metz or Athens.
In any case, Fonseca is the 10th player to withdraw from the Shanghai tournament. Before him, Draper, Paul, Fils, Dimitrov, Popyrin, Bautista Agut, Monfils, Fearnley, and Hurkacz had done the same.
