A "mistake by the volunteer attendant" on the doping test requested of Mensik
In his second group match at the Next Gen Masters, Jakub Mensik was asked to take a doping test between the second and third sets, which should have taken place after the end of the match.
A mistake which irritated the Czech and was the subject of much discussion.
Journalist James Gray revealed the reasons for this incident:
"I understand it was a mistake on the part of the volunteer attendant, who thought he was leaving the court at the end of the match, and not for a toilet break in the middle of the match."
The ATP, approached by AFP, mentioned that Mensik had not undergone a doping test during this sequence.
He then had to take a test at the end of the match.
