After only two weeks, Raducanu ends her collaboration with her new coach
After winning her first round in Miami against Sayaka Ishii (6-2, 6-1), Emma Raducanu also took the opportunity to end her partnership with coach Vladimir Platenik.
The Slovak had started working with the British player two weeks ago, at the beginning of the Indian Wells tournament. According to his statements reported by a Slovak media outlet, he had been hired on a trial basis that was supposed to last at least until Roland-Garros.
Platenik, former coach of Kasatkina, Cibulkova, and more recently Lulu Sun, therefore only witnessed one match of Raducanu, during her first-round loss at Indian Wells.
He was not present in the stands of the Hard Rock Stadium this Wednesday.
The player's entourage briefly mentioned the end of this collaboration: "Emma has the utmost respect for Vlado and the work they started, but it wasn't really going in the right direction."
