After the first set, I knew I had to keep going because she never gives up," Tauson's words on her surprise victory against Iga Swiatek

Clara Tauson pulled off one of the day's biggest upsets on Sunday in Montreal by defeating world No. 3 Iga Swiatek.
Three weeks earlier at Wimbledon, the Dane had been thoroughly outplayed in the Round of 16 (6-4, 6-1) by the eventual tournament champion. This time, Tauson managed to find the key in rallies to push Swiatek to her limits and secure a prestigious victory.
In the press conference, the 22-year-old player reflected on the win, which she described as "unreal":
"I’ve played Iga three times before. I was close in two of those three matches. After winning the first set, I knew I had to keep going because she never gives up. She brings out her best no matter what.
It feels good to beat her after the loss at Wimbledon a few weeks ago. I wasn’t feeling well during that match, but I felt like I was playing good tennis at Wimbledon. So I told myself if I kept playing the same way... I thought I had a chance.
