Alcaraz after victory over Borges: "I still have a lot of room for improvement".
Carlos Alcaraz has qualified for the last 16 of the Australian Open, following his victory over Nuno Borges.
Despite this victory, the Spaniard lost a set, leaving him dissatisfied with his performance.
He told a press conference: "I could have played at a higher level, I made too many mistakes in certain parts of the match, and I still have a lot of room for improvement.
What happened today was not a mental disconnection, but a loss of tennis feeling.
I started playing badly at the end of the second set, and during the third I wasn't feeling well.
I said to myself that I had to get my feeling back in the fourth, because otherwise it could get complicated for me.
I'm very happy to have won and I'm going to keep on working for the next match."
He will face the winner of the match between Jack Draper and Aleksandar Vukic in the Round of 16.
