Video - Alcaraz's end-of-the-line backhand lob against Borges
Carlos Alcaraz is feeling good at the Australian Open. The Spaniard won his first two rounds effortlessly against Shevchenko and Nishioka, but had to work a little harder against Nuno Borges.
The 21-year-old lost his first set of the tournament, but won in four sets (6-2, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2).
In the third set, Alcaraz delighted the Rod Laver Arena spectators. After Borges had managed to lure him to the net with a drop shot, the Spaniard responded with a backhand lob as he was at the end of the line on the next shot.
There's no doubt that Carlos Alcaraz is on top form at the start of the season, confirming his ambition to win the only Grand Slam title missing from his trophy cabinet.
Quarter-finalist last year, the 21-year-old will play Draper or Vukic for a place in the second week.
