Alcaraz and Monfils stopped by rain in Cincinnati

Carlos Alcaraz and Gael Monfils were unable to complete their duel in Cincinnati on Thursday (6-4, 6-6). The two men were interrupted by rain after the Frenchman had come within a set of levelling the match at one set apiece.

He had a set point at 6-5, 30-40, which the Spaniard almost miraculously saved at the net. In the tie-break, Monfils was leading 3-1 at the time of interruption. The match will resume this Friday in 2nd rotation on Center Court.

Four other matches have been interrupted or postponed: Pegula vs Muchova, Zheng vs Frech, Ruud vs Auger-Aliassime and Wozniacki vs Pavlyuchenkova.
