Alcaraz and Sabalenka nominated for the Laureus World Sports Awards
The Laureus World Sports Awards, considered the Oscars of sports, have announced the nominees.
In the men's category, tennis will be represented by Carlos Alcaraz. He will face cyclist Tadej Pogacar, swimmer Léon Marchand, driver Max Verstappen, and pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis.
Jannik Sinner's nomination was deemed inadmissible due to his suspension for doping.
In the women's category, Aryna Sabalenka will compete against gymnast Simone Biles, footballer Aitana Bonmati, and athletes Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Sifan Hassan, and Faith Kipyegon.
