Alcaraz faced the qualifier Zeppieri (310th) on the Suzanne-Lenglen court this afternoon.
Without any difficulty, the Spaniard won in three sets (6-3, 6-4, 6-2) in his debut match in the Parisian tournament. As the titleholder and winner of four Grand Slams at only 22 years old, Alcaraz is aware that all eyes will be on him.
Ranked number two in the ATP ranking, he defeated the Italian in just under 2 hours of play in the capital and will face Hungarian Marozsan (56th) in the next round.
On clay this season, the native of El Palmar has won two trophies and played a final in the three tournaments he participated in. In Grand Slam events, he is coming off a quarter-final elimination against Djokovic.
