Alcaraz: "I was very, very nervous at the start. It was difficult.

Carlos Alcaraz beat Daniil Medvedev (6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4) this Friday afternoon on Centre Court grass to reach the Wimbledon final. The Spaniard seemed to have great difficulty keeping up in the 1st set, before finding his rhythm to take control of the match. He confirmed this in a post-match interview.
Carlos Alcaraz: "First of all, I'm delighted to have been able to play outdoors (he points to the open roof of the court, which has often remained closed due to the rain this year). So the conditions were different.
But I'm really happy with my performance. I was very, very nervous at the start. Daniil managed the match well and played great tennis. He was serving well, returning my serves well. It was difficult for me.
But I started to let go of my nerves at the start of the second set. It really helped that I was leading 3-1. And, after that, I was able to play my own game, enjoy the match a bit more, try to hit some great shots and I did pretty well. So overall, I played a very good match."
