Alcaraz on Federer's advice: "He told me to find ways to have fun during tournaments"
Alcaraz will not participate in this year's Madrid Masters 1000 due to an adductor injury. While many fans are disappointed not to see the Spaniard compete, they will still get a glimpse of another side of his life in a documentary airing on Netflix.
Across three 30-minute episodes, the world No. 3 reveals parts of his life as an athlete, as well as off the court. The 21-year-old star notably shares a conversation he had with Swiss legend Federer and the important advice he received from him:
"I’m lucky to draw inspiration from so many players who have made history in this sport. It would be foolish not to learn from the greatest players of all time. So I asked Roger Federer what he did to stay motivated for so long, year after year.
He told me the secret was to enjoy this life. You have to find ways to have fun during tournaments, no matter where they take place. Have friends, things to do, go to the movies—always have something to enjoy, wherever you are."
