Federer to Give the Start at the Next 24 Hours of Le Mans

Roger Federer will be the guest of honor at the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, taking place from June 14 to 15, as announced by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest on Thursday.

The eight-time Wimbledon champion will wave the tricolor flag to signal the start of the legendary endurance race.

"It’s a tremendous honor to have been invited to give the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race as mythical as it is demanding. I’ve always been fascinated by the commitment, precision, and endurance it requires. Being at the heart of this iconic event will be a very special moment," Federer said in comments shared on the race’s official website.

He will follow in the footsteps of Zinédine Zidane, who gave the starting signal for the previous edition. In the tennis world, only Rafael Nadal had been invited to take part in this tradition back in 2018. The race will begin at 4 p.m.
