Alcaraz to Join Spain for Davis Cup Qualifiers in September

On September 13 and 14, Spain will face Denmark at home in the second round of the 2025 Davis Cup qualifiers. For this event, team captain David Ferrer has announced the squad that will represent the nation at the Puente Romano Tennis Club in Marbella.
Carlos Alcaraz, Alejandro Davidovich, Pedro Martínez Portero, and Marcel Granollers will form the Spanish team for this weekend. The 43-year-old coach mentioned that a fifth player will be called up in the coming days and that Marc Lopez will also join the Spanish staff.
"I am very happy with the players' commitment and the team's enthusiasm to advance past the qualifying round against Denmark, who we know will be a tough opponent with Holger Rune.
Carlos and Alejandro are key players to win these two matches. Davidovich is very consistent and is in the top 20 in the race. Alcaraz, meanwhile, just won Roland Garros and reached the final at Wimbledon, so I’m very excited that he can be with us."
It’s worth noting that Spain will return to clay courts, a surface they haven’t played on in the Davis Cup for three years.
