Alizé Cornet Comes Out of Retirement, Just 10 Months After Official Announcement!
Alizé Cornet bid farewell to professional tennis on May 28, 2024, during Roland-Garros. At 34, the Nice native seemed to be leaving the women's tour for good.
However, the former world No. 11 appeared nostalgic as the 2025 season approached. She shared on her social media:
"It feels strange not to cut Christmas celebrations short this year and not to rush off to Australia for the first time in 20 years."
Today, she announces her big comeback at the Rouen tournament, just 10 months after announcing her retirement:
"You thought you were rid of me? Not quite yet! See you soon to share the excitement together again," said Cornet, as reported by the media outlet Univers Tennis.
The 35-year-old Frenchwoman will compete in the Rouen tournament, scheduled for April 12-20.
