Andreeva: "With social media, as soon as you lose a match, you become worthless"
Mirra Andreeva, competing in the Madrid tournament where she faces Yuliia Starodubtseva this Monday, addressed the topic of social media, particularly the treatment from internet users after a loss.
She stated: "I try to spend as little time as possible on social media. Sometimes, before going to bed, I watch videos and see notifications of new comments under my posts.
Thank God, they’re usually positive. However, as soon as you lose a match, you immediately become terrible, even worthless.
After losing to Coco (Gauff) at Roland Garros (in 2023), I didn’t expect people to write something negative. The tournament was great, I won a lot of matches.
What do you want from me? Did you expect me to win the tournament? People started writing horrible comments."
