Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff had parted ways after the Roland-Garros final with some tension in the air.
The world No. 1, who lost in Paris, had implied that her opponent wouldn’t have been able to beat Iga Swiatek in the final if the latter had reached that stage of the tournament. These remarks sparked controversy and forced Sabalenka to explain and apologize the next day.
Yesterday, the two players reunited on Centre Court at Wimbledon for a 45-minute practice session. Before stepping onto the court, they exchanged a few words for Tennis Channel’s cameras.
Sabalenka: "I wonder what you want us to talk about. Are we still friends?"
Gauff: "Yes, everything’s fine."
Sabalenka: "See, everything’s good, you can relax.
