Arthur Fils made a successful debut in Barcelona by defeating Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets (7-6, 6-3).

Trailing 4-1 in the first set, Arthur Fils fought back to claim the opener in a tightly contested tie-break (8-6).

The Frenchman then pulled away to secure his first victory in Barcelona this year.

Full of confidence, the Bondoufle native is coming off two Masters 1000 quarterfinals (Miami and Monte-Carlo) and currently ranks among the world's top 15 players (14th).

Arthur Fils will face Pedro Martinez for a spot in the quarterfinals.

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.
