Arthur Fils youngest player in the world Top 20, ahead of Alcaraz, Rune and Shelton
Thanks to his title on clay in Hamburg (ATP 500) on Sunday, Arthur Fils made his debut in the Top 20 of the ATP rankings on Monday.
He is now the youngest player in the Top 20, ahead of Carlos Alcaraz (21 years 79 days, world no. 3), Holger Rune (21 years 85 days, world no. 16) and Ben Shelton (21 years 286 days, world no. 14).
Even if he's still a long way from Alcaraz's level of tennis, the big maneuvers really seem to be getting underway for the Frenchman, who will probably be competing very seriously with Rune and Shelton in the weeks and months to come.
We must remain cautious, as he says himself, but with so few points to defend, the Top 10 could be within reach by the end of the season if he continues to play at this level.
To be continued.
