At first I didn't want to watch, but it was so captivating," Djokovic reflects on Alcaraz-Sinner final at Roland Garros
During a practice session on Center Court between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, the Serbian player discussed the Roland Garros final between Jannik Sinner and Alcaraz.
He admitted that he initially didn't want to watch the match but eventually gave in.
"To be completely honest with you, I was in my country with my family. My son and wife really wanted to watch the Roland Garros final, and I told them I didn't want to and that I'd had enough of tennis.
For the first part of the match, we were outside, we ate, and they were very eager to get home to turn on the TV.
We got back, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch. But the match was so captivating that we ended up watching it for a few hours—they played for almost six hours.
It was an incredible match. I give both of them huge credit for that amazing battle, not just for tennis but for the world of sports.
It was one of the most historic matches we've ever had. It's unbelievable.
